Unacceptable Crime Rates
Birmingham has a violent crime rate of 1,911 per 100,000 residents, which is significantly higher than the national average of 366.7 per 100,000.
Drug Trafficking and Gang Activity
The district has been a hotspot for drug trafficking, particularly for opioids and methamphetamines. Gang activity remains a pressing issue, especially in Birmingham and human trafficking is a growing problem in the district.
Insufficient Law Enforcement Resources
Many rural areas within the district are under-resourced, with police departments struggling to maintain adequate staffing levels.
Border Security and Illegal Migration
Under Biden’s America, the southern border has continued to be overwhelmed by record-breaking crossings. We must strengthen and secure our borders and maintain our sovereignty.
MY SOLUTION
Enhanced Border Security
I will seek to increase border security funding and support advanced technology to monitor and control illegal crossings. I will also support immigration reform so people can enter our country legally.
Crime Prevention
I will support crime prevention programs that target at-risk youth and provide alternatives to criminal behavior, such as job training and educational opportunities.
Fighting Trafficking
I will fight to combat drug trafficking and provide comprehensive support for those struggling with addiction. I will also promote comprehensive support services for trafficking victims, including housing, legal aid, and counseling.
Increased Funding for Law Enforcement
Advocate for increased funding for law enforcement agencies to ensure they have the necessary resources and staffing.
Training Programs
Provide ongoing training programs for law enforcement officers to improve their effectiveness and community relations, especially in addressing mental health issues.
Protect the 2nd Amendment
I will fight to uphold the right for Alabamians to bear arms as enshrined in the Constitution.
